Safaricom extends CEO’s contract by two years

Kenyan operator Safaricom has announced its Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore will remain at the company for at least another two years.

Collymore’s initial three year contract, which was due to expire at the end of August this year, has been extended, after the company deemed his role as key to raising the firm’s profits.

Speaking in a statement, Collymore said the company still had a lot of work to do. “We are giving ourselves more time to work out our succession plan,” he added.
