Ericsson to manage MBNL’s UK network

Mobile Broadband Networks (MBNL) has selected Ericsson to manage the operations and maintenance of MBNL’s UK network.

MBNL, a joint venture company owned by Three UK and EE, will benefit from the Swedish equipment provider’s end-to-end operations solution, as well as a spare parts management service for its 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

"Since the formation of MBNL in 2007, we have achieved a great deal by consolidating a complex network infrastructure to deliver the best network at lowest cost,” said Graham Payne, managing director at MBNL.

“Ericsson will deliver a further enhancement to the service levels we achieve, and drive continuous service improvement and innovation to further extend our lead in positive customer experience.”

Ericsson is expected to enable MBNL to deliver an enhanced customer experience, and identify future areas of improvement in accordance with market change.

"Together with MBNL we have covered new ground for managed services over the last 4 years and we are delighted to take this partnership into a new phase, supporting MBNL's vision for the future,” said Valter D'Avino, head of managed services at Ericsson.

Ericsson penned a managed services agreement with Atlantique Telecom in Africa in March this year, and to date has signed approximately 300 similar deals worldwide.
