Orixcom launches virtual PoP in Africa and Middle East

Cloud provider Orixcom has today announced the launch of a virtual private PoP service from its hub in the UAE.

The virtual PoP is said to provide the company’s customers with increasing network presence, and enables operators across the Middle East and Africa to offer a range of services in the developing markets without making major investment.

Orixcom believes its new solution is a viable option for companies in Africa and the Middle East to establish a physical presence, without taking a major risk or implementing fixed infrastructure. The company claims to offer a fast expansion of services over a next-generation network, which then allows onward connection to enter other interconnected geographical markets.

Andrew Grenville, CEO of Orixcom, told Capacity Daily the launch of the virtual PoP could serve as an increasing trend in the market for similar developments across other regions. “With this flexible and cost efficient solution, customers can confidently grow their businesses and deliver new revenue streams in the Middle East and Africa,” he said.

Orixcom launched at Capacity Middle East this year, and offers wholesale services, including Ethernet and IP Transit.
