Telecom Italia Sparkle has partnered with Ericsson’s subsidiary, iconectiv, in a bid to improve routing, billing and fraud prevention on its network. iconectiv’s Mobile ID solution is expected to accurately route TI Sparkle’s SMS and voice calls, as well as simplify interconnect management. Sprint Nextel Custom Network Solutions (CNS) has selected Ruckus Wireless to help the delivery of solutions to its enterprise, public sector and federal customers through Smart Wi-Fi products. Sprint’s CNS unit said it has adopted Ruckus’ technology to meet the growing number of smartphone users requiring Wifi signals in areas which experience erratic interference and constant traffic. Yoigo, TeliaSonera’s Spanish mobile subsidiary, is set to launch 4G services for customers in the country. The services are expected to be available from July this year, and are hoped to allow Yoigo customers to experience faster internet surfing speeds on their mobile devices. [read more]




 

Middle East operator Ooredoo has partnered with Tata Communications to launch what it claims to be the region’s first IPX+ enabled network. Using Tata Communications’ IPX+ platform. Ooredoo has launched the service to enhance its mobile broadband delivery services. [read more]




 

AT&T has deployed its nationwide 4G LTE network to a further 10 cities across the US. The service is expected to deliver download speeds up to 10 times faster than the 3G service, as well as low-latency technology to improve mobile gaming services for customers. [read more]



 

24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network has signed an agreement with CoreSite to extend its dark fibre backbone into the US data centre provider’s DC1 facility in Washington. The agreement is expected to provide CoreSite customers with extended interconnectivity opportunities to carriers and service providers. [read more]




 

NTT Communications’ European subsidiary has signed a deal with Salesforce to open a UK data centre. NTT Europe will operate the data centre in Slough, just outside of London, to address Saleforce’s growing sales across Europe and it will represent the company’s sixth data centre worldwide.
