The vendor said the figures, which also represented a 29.8% quarter-on-quarter decline, resulted from divestments of businesses in 2012.
Mobile broadband increased 2.2% year-on-year but global services declined 7.5% and all of its other business operations declined 52.8% in the same period.
Rajeev Suri, CEO of Nokia Siemens Networks, was positive about the results.
“The Q1 2013 results demonstrate that we are executing well on our strategy and our turnaround is on track.
“We have fundamentally improved execution capabilities across the organization, through steps such as centralization of pricing, shifting to global delivery of services, and strengthening contract management,” he added.
Suri also said the company’s “strong LTE position” demonstrates its ability to innovate and deliver quality services.
