Huawei tones down $15 billion enterprise sales target

Huawei announced it expects to see networking equipment sales rise to $2.7 billion this year but has toned down its projected enterprise sales figures.

In a media briefing, Eric Xu, EVP and a rotating CEO, reneged on a previous prediction of reaching $15 billion in sales to operators by 2017 – altering that figure to $10 billion.

Xu altered the provisional figure after assessing market situation and posting $1.9 billion in that sector last year.

"We now have a deeper understanding of the market," Xu said.

"If we can achieve $10 billion sales by 2017, that will be good enough for me."

At the same briefing, current CEO William Xu said the company's networking equipment sales had risen from $1.9 billion in 2012 to $2.7 billion this year.
