Global Capacity and EarthLink announce wholesale services agreement

Global Capacity and EarthLink have announced a joint wholesale services agreement to allow for increased benefits on an infrastructure basis.

Solutions provider Global Capacity is set to gain an additional access network as part of the deal and complement its ability to provide automated connectivity solutions via its One Marketplace.

EarthLink, using Global Capacity’s PoPs in New York, Chicago and Atlanta, will add the ability to procure off-net services, allowing greater network reach.

Pat Hannon, SVP of wholesale and carrier services at Earthlink, said: "The efficiencies provided by One Marketplace should drive additional revenue for EarthLink by facilitating improved customer service and quote turn-around times, as well as an alternative route to market our on-net services.

“This will ultimately help us win new business.”

EarthLink’s 28,800 route fibre miles, 90 metro fibre rings and four secure data centres will extend Global Capacity’s reach across the eastern half of the US.

Jack Lodge, president of Global Capacity added: "Global Capacity's One Marketplace enables EarthLink to leverage an automated process to access an entire marketplace of network locations and pricing, improving customer experience and reducing back office costs."
