TELUS launches 4G services in Saint John

TELUS has launched its 4G LTE network services to customers in Saint John, Canada.

The expansion of the LTE service is expected to enable customers in Atlantic Canada to benefit from faster download speeds when using the internet.

"Whether it's on our latest smartphone like the BlackBerry Z10, a tablet or wireless internet key, more than 24 million Canadian customers in communities like Saint John are now covered by our blazing fast 4G LTE wireless network," said Ken Power, director of sales at TELUS.

TELUS provides 4G LTE services to an estimated 70% of the Canadian population following recent launches in Moncton, Charlottetown and Halifax.

To enhance the service for end-users, TELUS has also launched the TELUS Network Experience app, which is said to be available on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones.

The launch of the LTE network and app follows TELUS’ reports of strong profit growth from its wireless business in August last year.
