BH Telecom chooses Nokia Siemens Networks in 3G deal

Bosnian-based BH Telecom has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to upgrade its network and provide 3G mobile broadband services across areas in its home market.

Nokia Siemens Networks will roll out 3G deployment on the 2100MHz and 900MHz bands designed to give greater coverage, as well as dual cell HSPA+ for higher data speeds.

“Our customers are increasingly adopting advanced smartphones and tablets which require the best quality possible in terms of coverage and network performance”, said Nedžad Rešidbegovic, CEO of BH Telecom.

“Nokia Siemens Networks’ range of solutions and excellent support services in mobile broadband will deliver superior network quality so that we can address the upsurge in today’s networks.”

Following the upgrade, BH Telecom subscribers in northern and eastern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina will reportedly benefit from mobile internet browsing speeds of up to 30Mbps.

As part of the agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will also provide project management, network implementation, optimisation and care services to enhance BH Telecom’s quality of service and improve network efficiency.

“Maintaining growth and market leadership requires constant innovation and improvements”, said Elvedina Vugic, BH Telecom account manager at Nokia Siemens Networks.

“We are proud to be entrusted with this project and will support BH Telecom to build the most innovative broadband and 3G network, strengthening our successful and long-time partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leading mobile operator even further.”

The deal follows Nokia Siemens Networks recent agreement with Movistar Chile for LTE deployment on its network in February this year.
