NTT launches global enterprise cloud platform

NTT Communications has announced the launch of its Communications Enterprise Cloud, a virtualised Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering.

Following the launch of its SDN-based enterprise cloud via data centres in Japan and Hong Kong in June last year, the new service is designed to be available globally through the addition of data centres in Singapore, Virginia and California in the US, and in the UK.

In a statement today, NTT said that it also plans to open a further three data centres in Australia, Malaysia and Thailand in March this year.

“NTT Communications’ Enterprise Cloud is a full-layer, self-manageable virtual private cloud that is now global, and growing to incorporate virtualised networks in eight countries and nine locations by March 2013,” said Motoo Tanaka, SVP of cloud services at NTT Communications.

NTT will reportedly provide advisory services to identify any applications and business processes affected, migration services to transfer existing applications and their data to the cloud; and operational and management services for ongoing IaaS support.

NTT Communications further extended its global footprint following the opening of a PoP in Stockholm earlier this month.
