Syniverse to open PoPs in Frankfurt and Marseille

Solutions provider Syniverse has today announced that it will be opening PoPs for its IPX network in Frankfurt, Germany, and Marseille, France.

The PoPs are expected to open in the first quarter of 2013 and are among the 16 facilities across North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe, which will add to Syniverse’s global IPX footprint.

“Existing PoPs in London and Amsterdam have helped many of our European customers access the network, and we expect the new connection points to extend these benefits to even more mobile service providers globally,” said John Wick, SVP at Syniverse Network.

The Syniverse IPX Network reportedly supports almost 100 mobile service providers worldwide and offers access to the company’s full portfolio of mobile solutions.

Syniverse believes IPX plays a crucial part as the network backbone which allows LTE roaming to operate.

The company said its IPX network is being used to facilitate commercial LTE roaming in North America.

“We’re leading the way by providing the vital interoperability solutions necessary to ensure a seamless experience for end users as they traverse LTE, Wifi, 3G and 2G networks, or anywhere in between,” Wick added.

The launch of these European PoPs follows the company’s opening of two PoPs in India last August.
