David Shaw steps down as LIME CEO

LIME, the Caribbean arm of Cable & Wireless Communications, has announced its CEO David Shaw is to step down after four years of leading the company.

Shaw will remain at the company for the next six months in a bid to facilitate a handover, with Tony Rice, CWC’s chief executive taking over leadership of LIME.

CWC has recently announced a restructure to focus its business in the Caribbean and Central American regions, following the sale of its Macau and Monaco & Island operations.

“As a team we have achieved a great deal during the past four years,” said Shaw. “Our business is fighting back in Jamaica. In the Bahamas we are well positioned to face up to competition when it comes and we are competing strong in our other markets.”

Rice paid to tribute to Shaw’s four-year tenure, commenting on the difficult conditions the company has been operating in. “David has managed our Caribbean business through a period of unparalleled and prolonged economic challenges for the region and difficult market conditions,” he said. “During that period he has done a sterling job to strengthen our business and deliver critical transformational initiatives.”
