Hibernia Networks supports NTT expansion

Hibernia Networks has announced that it will provide 100 Gigabits of diverse network capacity to NTT Communications to support the carrier’s European expansion and its global IP network.

Under the plans the capacity provider, formerly known as Hibernia Atlantic, will be the preferred supplier for the deployment of multiple terrestrial and subsea crossing routes, designed to provide complete network diversity for NTT.

The expansion will support growing demand for NTT's IP networking, consultancy, architecture, security and cloud services for enterprise and service provider customers.

“As NTT Communications continues extending its global footprint to meet increasing data demand, we selected Hibernia Networks to expand our network infrastructure because of its technology, experience and personalised support,” said Chris Lathrop, senior director network infrastructure at NTT Communications Global IP Network for NTT America.

“We required a diverse route from key European points to the west coast of the US, and Hibernia was able to design complex solutions that would encompass multiple routes.”

Hibernia’s infrastructure includes redundant ring architecture and direct access to over 120 PoPs across North America, Europe and Asia.

“By providing NTT Communications with our carefully engineered diverse network capacity, Hibernia plays a pivotal role in meeting maximum uptime for their clients along with furthering positive customer experiences,” said Eric Gutshall, president of wholesale at Hibernia Networks. “The additional Hibernia capacity serves to link NTT Communications’ Asia, US and European markets. We look forward to growing our relationship with this trusted partner.”
