T-Systems renews contract with Shell

Deutsche Telekom owned T-Systems has announced it will renew its business with Shell for another five years in worldwide hosting and storage services.

T-Systems will continue to provide Shell with data centre infrastructure and computing services around the world.

Shell has moved global dynamic SAP services into the cloud, and adapted the use of information and communication technology for business demand, helping to boost efficiency and reduce cost.

“We are pleased that Shell has renewed its contract with T-Systems. I thank Shell for their confidence in us”, said Reinhard Clemens, member of Deutsche Telekom’s Board of Management and T-Systems CEO. “T-Systems is a truly international service provider with a broad spectrum of secure cloud computing services.”

Deutsche Telekom has confirmed its intentions to strengthen cloud services over the next few years, and the company claims market watchers have said it is leading the market for managed clouds for corporate customers.

Shell’s contract with T-Systems was first established in 2008, and the company implemented a dedicated delivery team in all of Shell’s key locations for IT services.

900 Shell specialists also joined T-Systems to fulfill high service commitments to the company.
