Veolia selects FreeMove alliance for mobile services

FreeMove, the mobile telecommunications alliance between Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, TeliaSonera and Telecom Italia, has been selected by environmental service companies Veolia Transdev and Veolia Environment as a partner to provide mobile services across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Under a three-year deal, the alliance will provide Veolia with voice and data communications and M2M data transfer services.

FreeMove claims that the partnership will enable seamless data migration between networks for critical business services like payment systems and public transport networks, as well as monitoring systems.

“With mobile voice, data and M2M capabilities that already support multinational corporations across the globe, we are thrilled to extend our wealth of offerings to provide Veolia with greater efficiency, productivity and control, as well as seamless mobile communications to match their own global footprint,” said Fabien Gustafsson, general manager at FreeMove.

The agreement includes central governance to handle daily operations and the harmonisation of mobiles and pricing across the three countries.

“If successful, this is a relationship we hope to develop into a longer term partnership across our wider operations to enable us to maintain our position as a leading innovator within the global transport and environmental industry,” said Michel van Maanen, director of supply chain and business improvement at Veolia.
