Telstra Global launches IPX service to meet LTE demands

Telstra Global has launched a global IPX service designed to integrate with mobile operators and meet demands for data usage and international roaming.

Named Telstra Global IPX Service, it is designed for mobile operators to maximise investment in LTE services and capitalise on increased international mobile and data consumption. Telstra Global said the IPX service allows mobile operators to optimise networks to meet increasing consumer demands.

The service is expected to benefit consumers of using mobile gaming and video services, providing higher end user experience.

Utilising Telstra Global’s managed IP MPLS network, the IPX platform is designed to maximise traffic on legacy and mobile platforms, and allow Telstra Global to partner with operators that are set to roll out, or already have rolled out, LTE services.

Coupled with providing traffic management and billing authentication, the service is designed to cut costs and allow for consistent customer experience across global networks.

Nathan Bell, global director of products and marketing at Telstra Global, said end user demands are now becoming sophisticated for data and operators are well placed to take advantage of the trend.

“IPX provides mobile operators with the opportunity to innovate beyond the network by taking advantage of increased data usage, moving up the value chain by offering feature rich applications and services delivered through a high-quality end user experience which customers are demanding whether at home or abroad,” he said in a statement.
