Telx targets more vertical markets

US data centre and collocation provider Telx has said it might add further members to its senior management team in order to target new vertical markets.

During the last few months, the company has introduced three general manager positions each targeting different vertical markets.

Shawn Kaplan joined the team as general manager of financial services in April, and was quickly followed by Ken Kajikawa and Tim Byrnes, who were appointed as general manager for content, media and entertainment and general managers for strategic alliances and partnerships respectively.

Telx’s VP of marketing, Ron Sterbenz, says the company is now looking to strengthen its vertical strategy by possibly creating more general manager positions: “Other areas we hope to explore are networks and managed providers,” he said.

“There are also a few areas we may go after in the future, such as banking and insurance products,” he added.
